Privacy Policy

The short version

PrivateMed runs on your own computer. The files you add, the health information extracted from them, the database that stores it, and the reports it produces all stay on your device. We do not operate a server that receives your health data, we cannot see it, and we never sell or share it.

What PrivateMed processes

To do its job, PrivateMed reads the documents you choose to give it — such as:

• Lab and test results, imaging reports, and clinical letters
• PDFs, images, scans, and text documents you import
• Health metrics from services you explicitly connect

All of this processing happens locally, on your machine. Extracted facts are tagged with their source document and date so that every entry in your record remains traceable.

Where your data lives

On your device, and nowhere else. PrivateMed does not upload your health records to a cloud service, does not require an account, and does not transmit your data to us or any third party for storage or analysis. AI-based extraction and analysis run locally. If your device is backed up by software you use, your PrivateMed data is included in those backups under your own control — the same as any other file on your computer.

Connected services

PrivateMed can, at your request, read data from health services you already use — for example, importing biometric readings from a wearable through that provider's official interface. When you connect such a service:

• You authorize the connection yourself, and only for your own account
• Data is read into your local database and stays there
• You can disconnect the service at any time from its own settings

The provider you connect handles that data under its own privacy policy up to the point PrivateMed reads it onto your device.

What we collect

Nothing about your health. Because PrivateMed has no account system and no server that receives your records, there is no health data for us to collect, analyze, or lose. Any general, anonymous information involved in obtaining or updating the software (such as a download) is handled by the platform you obtain it from, not by a PrivateMed service.

Your control

Your records are yours. You can export them, back them up, or delete them at any time using ordinary controls on your own device. Removing the data is as direct as deleting a file, because that is what it is.

Not a medical service

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Because the local-first architecture is the foundation of how PrivateMed protects your data, any change that would move health data off your device would be described plainly and clearly.
